  1. Done. 5:20:08. I put in Madonna's 4 min to motivate. Excited to report that my form didn't fall apart until 43 (shocking)

  2. i feel sad to say that i am no longer in the challenge. i finally became too pregnant to burpee any longer. i feel good that i'm still going to crossfit and doing the (modified) workouts. i'll be in this thing til the end next time it comes around and i'm not gestating...

  3. I can't believe its day 50 already. I did 29 in a row yesterday and THAT hurt. I also have the thing where my legs hurt much more than my arms when I get into the higher numbers. I will post my time later today. Not sure if its a good idea to do these burpees right before the faculty vs. varsity basketball game today. I have to keep some ups for the game!!

  4. Donning striped pajama pants, a bright blue sports bra, and the all-important, slidy socks, I burpeed 50 times in 3:56. Like Rachel, I picked a motivating song, in this case Calabria by Enur (also known as the Nationals song). My thought was that if it was good enough to pump me up for the beantown game, it def should be good enough for 50 burpees. While I beat my goal of 4 minutes, there is no time to celebrate as I have missed a whole week of burpees and still owe 327. Hope my neighbors don't get sick of that song:)!

  5. Positive developments:
    1. My neck and shoulder pain, which has been (partly) responsible for my slacking, eased today. (Yes, neck pain from hooking in SEVENS!)
    2. This allowed me to burpee away 11 sets of 15-20 burpees, plus the 50 for today - meaning I am back in this thing.

Thanks to the motivation from all who are still in it, and those who blogged about overcoming large deficits, I have reduced my deficit from 322 to manageable 144.

  6. Ooh, music would have been a smart choice! I did mine in 4:48 with a few of the U19 girls (ask them how much fun it was). Having mostly skipped burpees for the last week, it was a big jump back in. I'm still 225 in the hole, which means it's time to put on some Calabria...

  7. PHEW! did it and man was it TOUGH! time of 4:09. and the largest accomplishment is that I did not cough until I was completely done! Am at home and I had my whole family involved in the ordeal...cheering and timing me. They said they were tired just watching... :) For me the push-ups were the most challenging part but they have never been a favorite of mine.
I am still in the hole too - but have gotten it down to 30...maybe i'll go do a couple right now to get it down more...
good job to everyone that is still in this! :)

  9. Congrats to everyone who made it this far! Just did my 50 at 11:00PM; my neighbors likely hate me...

    Time for 50 burpees: 2:50.3

Didn't get the splits -- but the first 25 were done in under 1 minute.

Kind of a rough day, 5x2 deadlifts (maxed at 360lbs), 10 reps of OHS @ 75, 85, 95 (total of 30 reps). But what killed me were maxed effort tabata squats: 150 air squats in 3 minutes and 50 seconds. My hip flexors are shot, and after these burpees I feel useless.

  10. Joke and I have been sticking to the program and so far so good…Joke did her fifty straight in 4 min 47 seconds and I in 12 min 30 sec (I took a bit of time while resting between one set to read a particularly funny editorial from Gail Collins). One question on form: when jumping up, how many people are bringing their knees to their chest? Right now I have been raising my hands above my head and jumping up from a squat position, but in some of the videos I have seen it seems that I should be trying to get my knees as high off the ground as possible or trying to raise my legs so they are parallel to the ground (not sure how easy that will be if my hands are also supposed to still be above my head!)
